Shopify, WooCommerce
Hela has its own storefront (public menu and shop), enough for many businesses. For those already selling on Shopify or WooCommerce: orders come in as sales, Hela's stock is written to the shop.
What flows
| Direction | What | When |
|---|---|---|
| Shop → Hela | Every order becomes a sale: customer found by e-mail or created, lines found by reference (SKU) or added as free lines, shipping as a service line, paid if the order is. An order never creates two sales. | The shop's webhook, at order time; and a pass every fifteen minutes for whatever the webhook missed |
| Hela → shop | The stock quantity of every item with a reference, summed over locations | After each pass, and after a supplier receipt, a transfer, a low-stock alert, a cancellation |
Imported sales carry the Online channel and the order number in the note.
Stock is rewritten in the shop on every movement: a counter or online sale, a cancellation or credit note, a purchase received, a transfer, a validated count, an adjustment, a loss or a return (sale.created, sale.cancelled, invoice.refunded, purchase.received, transfer.completed, stock.movement, stock.low).
Shopify
- In the store: Settings → Apps and sales channels → Develop apps → Create an app. Admin API scopes:
read_orders,read_products,write_inventory,read_locations. Install the app and copy the access token (shpat_…) and the app's secret key. - In Hela, Integrations → Shopify → Connect: the shop (
my-shop.myshopify.com), the token, the secret key. - Settings → Notifications → Webhooks in Shopify: "Order creation", JSON, to the notification address shown by Hela. The secret key signs every delivery (
X-Shopify-Hmac-Sha256) and Hela verifies it.
Settings: the wallet for paid orders, the location for online sales, stock writing (on by default), the Shopify stock location (filled on the first test with the first active location).
WooCommerce
- WooCommerce → Settings → Advanced → REST API → Add key, read/write: copy the consumer key and consumer secret.
- In Hela, Integrations → WooCommerce → Connect: the site address, both keys.
- WooCommerce → Settings → Advanced → Webhooks → Add: topic "Order created", to Hela's notification address, with a secret you copy into Hela; each delivery is signed (
X-WC-Webhook-Signature).
An order is paid in Hela when WooCommerce calls it processing or completed. Stock is written on the product (stock_quantity), not on variations.
Good to know
- Give Hela items the shop's reference: it is what ties the two. An item without one comes in as a free line and its stock is not written.
- Refunds and cancellations made in the shop do not touch the Hela sale; cancel or refund it in Hela, which tells the shop through stock.
- The connection log shows, per pass, how many orders were imported and how many quantities written.
